Affiliate disclosure

How dddevlogs discloses affiliate links, in line with FTC guidance and Japanese stealth-marketing rules.

dddevlogs earns money from affiliate links. This page explains how that is disclosed, so a reader never has to guess whether a recommendation was paid for.

What we disclose

  • In the article. Every review that contains affiliate links shows a disclosure directly under the headline, before the first paragraph.
  • Next to the link. Buttons and links that earn a commission are marked as a sponsored link and carry rel="sponsored noopener".
  • In the footer. A short notice and a link to this page appear on every page of the site.

Why it is shown this way

For readers in the United States, the FTC’s guidance on endorsements requires a clear and conspicuous disclosure, close to the recommendation, not buried in a footer or a profile. For readers in Japan, the Consumer Affairs Agency’s rules on stealth marketing (景品表示法, in force since 1 October 2023) require that advertising be clearly distinguishable from editorial content.

We therefore show the disclosure twice: at the top of the article and beside the link itself.

What a commission does not buy

A commission does not buy a ranking, a review, or a sentence of praise. We test the tool first, write down what happened, and only then add a link. Where a tool did not work for us, the review says so, and we still link to the vendor’s documentation so you can check it.

We do not run paid placements, and we do not practice self-referral: no coupon codes or links exist for the purpose of buying through our own affiliate account.
